your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Luxor and go to visit the Luxor and Mummification Museums located in East Luxor and overlooking the Nile directly.
First, you will visit the Luxor Museum. The museum was built and opened to visitors during the reign of the late Egyptian President Mohamed Anwar Sadat in 1975 AD.
The museum contains many unique and precious artifacts and some royal mummies such as the mummy of King Ahmose and the mummy of King Ramses I.
It also contains a beautiful double statue of the god Sobek with King Amenhotep III and also a beautiful statue of the goddess Hathor.
We then head to the Mummies Museum, which is officially called the Mummification Museum. This museum tells us about the mummification processes that the ancient Egyptians used to preserve the bodies of their dead.
The museum also contains the original mummification tools used by the ancient Egyptians in mummification processes, such as natron salt and some canopic jars in which the deceased's viscera, such as the liver and intestines, were placed.
The museum also contains the mummy of the military leader and son of the priest Herihor. There are also some mummies of animals, such as cats and dogs, which the ancient Egyptians sanctified and mummified.
